Brett Furman Group Gives Back
“A life spent solely in pursuit of one’s own gain is a life not fully lived.”

As the son of a grade school teacher and a pediatrician, Brett learned early the value of being of service and contributing to the well-being of others. Brett’s parents left him with that legacy, and the drive to give back to his community and to the world at large.
“Even when your parents are gone, you never stop wanting to make them proud,” says Brett. “I can’t think of a better way to honor them than to contribute to causes that were close to their hearts. It’s a privilege to participate in raising funds for such special organizations.”
In honor of both of his parents, Brett created funds in their memories: the Harold B. Furman Memorial Research Fund for the ALS Hope Foundation, and the Flora M. Furman American Cancer Society Fund. Brett has raised countless dollars for both charities, and even participated in the world-wide ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for ALS funding and research.
Brett also participates via RE/MAX in a corporate sponsorship program with the Children’s Miracle Network, where donations go towards support for research and training, purchasing equipment, and paying for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
“My parents truly believed that ‘charity begins at home.’ I try to perpetuate that idea every day.”
Together, Brett Furman Group volunteers and FUNdraises for numerous local charities, including MANNA and SURREY Services for Seniors. Knowing that volunteer projects increase team productivity, Brett encourages his associates and staff to take the time and offer their services to organizations near and dear to their hearts. “Working together in the community gives us an appreciation for all that we have,” says Brett. “This new outlook often conveys into the office workplace, therefore benefiting our business.” Brett Furman Group feel they get so much out of their efforts. Long after an event has passed, they find themselves discussing how it brought them all together, sharing stories, and expressing both the emotional and personal effects it had on them.
